PR can sometimes have a bad reputation, being accused of ‘Spin’ and misinforming the public. Journalists often complain about the masses of generalised press releases they receive. Yet there seems to be a lot of people starting up PR agencies, possibly attracted by the parties and lifestyle – could this be reason for the spread of poor practice?

As a business, is it worth trying DIY PR or should you be investing in the expertise of a PR agency? It may sound easy but then think of the massive PR mishaps that big corporations have. Even Mc Donalds, Proctor and Gamble and Perrier have underestimated the importance of PR.
