Pop Legend to Rock Manchester Business Festival
PRESS RELEASE: September 2008
Manchester’s first ever outdoor business festival has announced its keynote speaker will be pop maestro Pete Waterman who is set to rock the region’s commercial community at the Rejuvenate event later this month.
The 60-year-old global pop phenomenon, who’s spent four decades at the top of the entertainment business, will take centre stage at ‘R-Land’, the brainchild of business and social networking forum Rejuvenate.
The award-winner and OBE recipient has produced and written over 200 hit songs for stars such as Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley and Steps under his world-famous Stock, Aitken & Waterman label. He will be talking about his success and giving business advice to delegates on the theme ‘I Should Be So Lucky’.
“I wanted to be involved and give something back to the region that has been so crucial in my career and also support a worthwhile cause,†said Pete.
“The North West is unique in that people really harness their creativity and do make careers out of it. I will be sharing my insights and experiences after 40 years in the pop industry and will be exploring themes such as how doing what you love makes a difference to your success.â€
With lectures, debates as well as live performances and a fun fair, ‘R-Land’ is open to corporates, entrepreneurs and one-man-bands, with a thrilling line-up of both business and pleasure based at Bar 38 and the Great Northern Warehouse on September 25.
“We’re delighted that someone of the calibre of Pete Waterman is our keynote speaker. He is a legend and really brings to life what Rejuvenate is all about,†said Rejuvenate Founder Anna-Louise Gilhooley.
